alt-J - "Left Hand Free"

alt-J - "Left Hand Free"

When alt-J released the first single from their new album, 'Hunger of the Pine', I felt that it was a good introduction to their sophomore album but I wasn't sure it was a solid indication of what direction the band was taking their sound. With that said, earlier today alt-J gave us their second single, "Left Hand Free". Almost immediately you'll notice that this song is decidedly different from almost anything on their debut album, and that's not necessarily a bad thing. This song is heavy in more traditional rock with just enough  flair to make it easily identifiable as an alt-J song. Where 'Hunger of the Pine' left me curious, "Left Hand Free" is leaving me with a feeling of anticipation.

"Left Hand Free" is taken from the group's upcoming sophomore album, This Is All Yours, due out September 23rd. Pre-order your copy on iTunes
