Death From Above 1979 - "Trainwreck 1979"
It was a surprise for me to wake up this morning and discover that the internet is awash with talk of a new single from Toronto-based duo Death From Above 1979. Considering their last album came out in 2004 (and I was convinced they had called it quits), it was hard to believe. But here I am, writing about a new song from a band that hasn't released anything in 10 year and you know what? They've still got it. For anyone that knows these guys' previous stuff, “Trainwreck 1979” is right at home: bass-heavy rock with lots of synths and grungy vocals. But then there's the bridges - oh man the bridges! They immediately sold me.
“Trainwreck 1979” is off of the duo's upcoming album, The Physical World, due out September 9th.
